Lamp Flower

This project was dedicated for the millions of people in Haiti who lost their homes after the earthquake in 2010. Years later homelessness was still a huge problem. Until Architect Andres Duany came up with the solution of creating lightweight modular homes.

These modular homes come with two bedrooms, a bathroom and a common room. it can fit up to 8 people but unfortunately lighting is still an issue.

Project Goal: Design a Lamp that provides lighting for people without power/ electricity after natural disasters.

Inspiration

Haiti's national flower is the Hibiscus or in their language, "Rose Kayenn." other forms of inspiration is the mason jar lanterns for it being simple and easy to carry. And of course no better solution to lack of electricity than the power of the sun and our  technology being able to harness it to bring energy.

Final Solution:

the final product is a more versatile lamp, for communal use, hand held and even to hang above on the ceiling. This hopes to provide lighting for many modular homes in Haiti and for those who still have no lighting after disasters around the world.
